Devised in April 2000 for the Hereford Scottish Country Dance Club in memory of Harold James, who had been dancing for 49 years.
In the 2001 printing by TACbooks, the title in the table of contents is “Rings Around the Moon”, but the title above the dance description is “RINGS ROUND THE MOON”. After the description follows: “NOTE: I called a previous dance for Hereford Over the Moon. “Rings Round the Moon” are not rings like the rings of Saturn, but Lunar Haloes. A double halo is a rare event.” It seems clear that Drewry wanted the name to be “Rings Round the Moon”. “Rings Around the Moon” has been added as an alias.
