This dance was devised to honour Captain Donald Henderson, the oldest member of any club inthe Hunter Valley Branch of the R.S.C.D.S. He continued dancing till shortly before his deathearly in 1981 at the age of 93. He was born in the north of Scotland, going to sea at the age of15, and was a four times “Cape Horner”. He settled in Newcastle, New South Wales, becomingHarbour Master. He was loved and respected by all.
