This dance was devised to provide an introduction for beginners to the concept of “meanwhile” figures. It can be danced to a reasonably quick strathspey tune since no figure needs to be rushed.
The dance is dedicated to the New Haven Branch. The name of the dance recalls the beautiful venue for the brunches the Branch holds after the New Haven Ball. Chris’ daughter Lorna moved to New Haven in 1999, and lives just a few yards from Whitney Avenue.
