“Dominie” is a Scots word for teacher. Also known as “Mackay of
Barrhead,” Mary Brandon devised this dance in 1962, to honor Harvey
Mackay Barnes, "High School Teacher Extraordinaire and Chairman of the
Scottish Country Dance Camp Committee in Vancouver, BC.
