The chocolate factory was founded in the 1870s by George Cadbury who wanted to take his workers out of the dirt and grime of a large Victorian city and build them a new place in the country to live and work. Between 1878 and 1906 he built a factory, village and school in the green fields of Kings Norton, outside the city of Birmingham and called it Bournville. Bournville is now within the city of Birmingham but the factory and the parks are still there. The Branch class meets near there on a Tuesday evening.
