Girardet House is a disused printing works in Essen, which has now been turned into a shopping centre. It has an Irish pub where the EMO dancers go after their training sessions.
Initially, the name of this dance was misspelled Giradet House. This name is kept a “spelling alias” to help searches using the misspelled name. The web URL still uses that name (april 2016).
The dance first had the name “EVAG” subtitled “Meals on Wheels”. EVAG is the local transport authority Essener Verkehrs Aktiengesellschaft (E.V.A.G.). The nickname came from a mistake made by the translation programme in my computer, which translated the name of the city, Essen, where I live as “meals”. The sub-title has nothing to do with food for Senior Citizens, one of which I am myself. Essen, Summer 2005
