Linda Gaul, responding to queries about [25-28], wrote (p6 of the October 2009 edition of Scottish Country Dancer):
"The original instructions for bars 25-26 state “3rd, 1st and 2nd couples, giving right hands, turn half way round and remain in the middle”. That is correct. The only error was that the “all facing up” instruction got put at the end of bars 25-26 instead of 27-28.
I often say to my class that at the end of bar 28, you can get a kiss in, if you wish. You couldn’t do that if you were setting near the sidelines! If the dancers in the videos are shown near the sidelines they are wrong!
