The tune I devised “The Dance Wizard” to was “He’s o’er the hills that I lo’e weel” only to discover it has been used by the RSCDS before for “Berwick Johnnie”. I therefore chose an altemative tune as name tune for “The Dance Wizard” but want to request that “He’s o’er the hills …” be played as the 4th tune.
The figure in the 1st 8 bars I discovered in a dance called “
Under a Shady Tree
” by
Noeline O'Connor
from the New Zealand collection “Silver Threads”. Noeline happens to be lain Boyd’s wife.
