The reels in this dance are like the reels in ''The Lads of Saltcoats" in Miss Milligan’s Miscellany, Volume 2. Bars 27-32 are like a figure danced often in English Country dancing, “three changes of a circular hey.” I was looking for an interesting two-couple dance that ends with a circle. I love dances that end with circles. The dance was used by the San Francisco Scottish Country Dance Class adjudication team at the Pleasanton Scottish Games in 2002. The dance is named in memory of my mother, known by everyone as “Poggy”.-SLK
