Заметки
A reliable source tells us that the author originally wanted to call the dance »The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge«, in honour of Prince William and his wife, but permission to do so was refused by the Palace (with no reason specified).
The current title of the dance is perhaps less than 100% fortunate given its phonetic proximity to
The Minister on the Loch
.
Notes (additional to the book and the Manual) collected by Helen Russell from staff teaching The Diamond Jubilee book at Summer School 2012.
13 - 16 1st couple, with 2nd woman and 3rd man, dance half rights and lefts on the diagonal.
21 - 24 1st couple, with 2nd man and 3rd woman, dance a variation on half rights and lefts on the diagonal. To begin 1st man dances diagonally up and 1st woman dances diagonally down. N.B. It may help to note that 1st man goes up, down down and up, while 1st woman goes down, up, up and down.
27 & 31 Ensure that hands are released before starting to cast.
