The dance was listed as “Leap in the Dark (McGregor’s)” in Martin Sheffield’s earlier 140 dances collection.
The reason is that Martin Sheffield originally intended to call the dance “McGregor’s Leap”, which he found out already existed as the title of a dance. Although the ‘working title’ was only used in his own dance group in the very beginning, the add-on “(McGregor’s)” was meant to establish the connection for those who knew the local working title. This add-on was not meant to be a part of the official title.
