Deviser’s note : 1st couple should end the first reel on bar 16 about on the 1st diagonal so as to make the distances traveled in each of the reels more nearly equal. Comers should be careful to dance full loops on the ends and flow smoothly into the second reel. At the end of bar 24, they should swoop into the lines of three joining hands with the first couple dancer for the advance and retire of the next figure. The dance was designed as an opening or warm-up dance. It flows smoothly from one simple figure to the next and all dancers in a round get to dance at least 20 bars. Aldebaran is the brightest star in the constellation Taurus. It is a first magnitude star radiating nearly 7 5 times as much light as the sun.
