I was recently delighted to learn (courtesy of The Buckie Loon) that ‘loon’ means ‘lad’, at least if you come from near Aberdeen. This dance is inscribed to all the young loons who have recently been gracing the dance floors of Seattle, bringing with them a splendid mix of verve, gallantry and - let’s face it - lunacy.
