The dance was devised at the 2009 Saskatchewan Branch workshop at Manitou Lake.
A fly was taking a stroll around the drinking glasses on the banquet table in Danceland Hall. The dance replicates the fly’s leisurely stroll around the table. The fly’s stroll takes him down the handle of the fly swatter, completely unaware of what awaits him upon his stroll’s completion. Suddenly, the swatter closes in. He takes flight moving around, avoiding the swatter. The swatter (corners) tries hard to swat the fly, but it’s not easy. The fly manages to survive and he begins his leisurely stroll again.
Note: clapping hands with the person diagonally opposite rarely comes together gracefully – have fun catching that pesky fly!
