Заметки
This dance is dedicated to the Peterborough RSCDS advanced class who patiently practice my ‘incomplete’ dances, special thanks to Hilary for suggesting the formation (bars 1-4).
Norman Cross is a famous crossroad milestone on the A1 outside Peterborough, notorious over later years for traffic hold-ups at its roundabout, which the new motorway section has now eliminated.
In this dance something of the movement of traffic at roundabouts is shown along with having to wait for one’s turn to enter onto it. In the last two bars - the road now goes straight through below the junction.
The St Andrews Cross formation is used because of the ‘CROSS’ in the name of this famous junction.
Norman Cross is also famous for a POW camp situated there during the Napoleonic wars.
