Chris Dix from the Anglo-Scottish Society of Ipswich writes (Jan 2024):
This dance was devised by the late Fred Scott some years ago in Suffolk,
UK. Unfortunately we do not know if he had a particular tune in mind for
it. It is most probable that he used an existing recorded track, but we do
not know which. It has gained popularity again here, so we make the
following suggestion of a suitable tune and recorded track which fits
well. It is track #6 entitled “Set of Jigs” 8x32J on the CD Music for
Scottish Dancing by Neil Barron and His Scottish Dance Band. The first
tune is “Jig for Jed” by Andrew Bathgate. The CD is out of print, but at
the time of writing there are still some copies available on the web.
