This Hebridean Step-dance was devised by Ewen MacLachlan (1799-1879) in 19th century. (It was not Jack McConachie although he did publish it with other dances.)
The possibly best description of the dance is to be found in Traditional Step-Dancing in Scotland by JF&TM Flett (1996) on pp102-108.
