El Camino Real (The Royal Road) is the historic trail in California which is now approximated by U.S. 101, along which historic mission-bell markers have been placed. This route connects four of the Los Angeles Branch classes, from east to west Van Nuys, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, and Santa Barbara.
Note: The figure-of-eight grand chain is precisely the same pattern as the figure in the dance Equilibrium, here in strathspey time two bars to a hand, but beginning with the dancers in different positions from Equilibrium. A good mnemonic for starting the figure is that the same two dancers who crossed diagonally in bars 7-8 are the ones who cross first diagonally in this figure.
