Amisfield Tower is one of the best examples of a Tower House in Scotland. It dates back to around 1600 although there was a castle at Amisfield in the 1200s. There are historic links to King Robert the Bruce and the Stuart Kings. The ancient and fine oak door from Amisfield is in the National Museum of Scotland in
Edinburgh.
