To truly appreciate not knowing “Which Hand is Right?” advanced dancers may wish to try repeating the dance with rights, lefts, and roles reversed. The repeat starts with 1st woman and 2nd man setting, then the diagonal changes are made with left hands and are followed by a counterclockwise chase. The reels start with left shoulders and flow into left hands across. 1st couple dances down the middle with a left hand lead (1st woman crossing 1st man in front of her), 1st man leads the cast up around 3rd woman, 1st woman leads the cast down around 2nd woman, and the final half turn uses right hands.
This Scottish Country Dance was commissioned to honor Sue Wartell. It is her hard work and calm leadership that makes the Columbus Country Dance Weekend such a magical event. Thanks Sue and a belated happy birthday too! Presented at the Columbus Country Dance Weekend, October 24-25-26, 2008
