Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, UK , owned by The National Trust was the site of the first Boy Scout camp. Stephen taught two separate groups of girl guides (Boxmoor and Potten End Guides) in 1988. They were taught the rudiments of SCD to enable them to gain their dancing badge. For this they were required to know a dance and dance it with a reasonable level of proficiency. They danced The Brownsea Island Jig and were adjudged by Stephen (a Fully Certificated Teacher) to have attained the required level.
