In 1955, Mrs Ysobel Stewart (co-founder of the RSCDS) moved to South Africa, where she found the climate more agreeable to her rheumatism. During a trip to Cape Town, the deviser visited the suburb of Fish Hoek (also known as Vishoek) where Mrs Stewart lived.
