In 1826, the brig Amity sailed from Sydney under the command of Major Edmund
Lockyer, who had orders to form a settlement at King George Sound, later
named Albany, in Western Australia.
Amity House, Albany Residential College was the venue for the 38th Australian
Winter School in 2013.
