The dance represents a rose slowly opening, thus making a flowing strathspey. Burns tunes such as ‘My Love is like a Red Red Rose’ and others make it an ideal Burns Night dance. It was devised for the Crook of Devon class, and would be particularly suitable for newer dancers or a children’s class.
