In 2011, the deviser travelled to Kenya with other members of Queensferry Parish Church (including a number of current and former dancers), to visit its partner church in Chogoria. The pattern of the dance represents a journey, meeting new people (and their return visit), and the building of a “bridge” and circle of friendship between the two communities. The title Queensferry Crossing seemed appropriate to highlight the connection between dancers in South Queensferry and Dunfermline.
