On our first day in Spokane WA, my wife Heather and I saw a beautiful rainbow while driving back into town after a visit to Coeur d’Alene. On the second day we saw a rainbow in the Spokane falls. On day three we went dancing with the Spokane SCD group, and I overheard a conversation among some of the dancers about how lovely it would be to have a 7 couple set with each couple dressed in a different one of the rainbow colours – we were 7 couples on the floor at the time. This dance has been devised for the Spokane Scottish Country Dance group, with thanks for a lovely evening of dancing, and to remember the rainbow which has become one of the symbols of our visit to Spokane. Note : This dance has been devised as a 4 couple dance to minimize the number of dancers required, but has been written in such a way that should the need arise, it can be danced in a 7 couple, rainbow coloured set by the 1st as well as 4th couples beginning. In this case it becomes a 7x32 bar dance. Note: In the instructions, the title says it is a 3C/4L dance, but the description is for a 4C/4L dance.
