The Tantramar is the name given to the marshes on the border between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, as well as to a tidal river to the south of Sackville, New Brunswick. The McCalls crossed the Tantramar frequently on their journeys to and from Sackville, especially when dancing in Seaforth, Nova Scotia (Halifax area). It was always a welcome point coming home, that the journey’s end was near.
