Заметки
The notes say this is “Dedicated to the memory of my late husband,
Sam Heron
. Sam lived in Stranraer, Scotland and went to school there, but he spent all his free time with his grandparents in Kirkcolm, a village just 6 miles north of Stranraer, and which lies on the northern tip of the Rhinns of Galloway. It is a small village which is bordered on the north and west by the sea, on the east by the bay of Loch Ryan and on the south by the Leswalt Parish. The name Kirkcolm (Kirk of Columb) comes from the local Church of St Columba. When Sam was a boy, he spent many happy hours playing in the woods behind his grandparents house. He loved visiting an old well, which was believed to be St Columba’s well. His ashes are scattered around the intricately carved stone cross which dates back to at least the 10th century in the grounds of St Columba’s Church, Kirkcolm.”
