I took a Hardanger class at the 2024 IOLI Convention and found the dove’s eye filling works the same as Schiehallion reels. Note that this dance is really best for teaching Schiehallion reels as it is a strathspey and it repeats four times, so there is a lot of dancing the reels (it can get a bit boring).
