Devised in August 2023 during the Valley of the Moon Fiddling School, with the goal to demonstrate it during the week’s ceilidh. Dedicated to Alasdair Fraser who complained that the camp had forgotten the link between music and dance.
The dance recounts the little anecdote that had the camp buzzing for three days: Alasdair had lost his violin during an evening that lasted a little too long, before finally finding it two days later under the pile of participants’ violins; where it belonged. A big thank you, moreover, to the four demonstration volunteers who danced even though they had not danced for at least a decade.
