The title comes from a phrase often used by Miss Jean Milligan, one of the two founders of the RSCDS. Within this dance there is a play on words as 1st man and 4th woman ‘abandon’ their partners in a controlled manner to follow a new leader in the consecutive half diagonal reels of four, only to find their partners again later in the reels.
