This dance is for Jean Guano who has long been a stalwart of several Scottish Country Dance groups in London: firstly in Wembley, then at Chiswick, Richmond and Wimbledon Reels.
She also frequently visited the St Columba’s Monday dancers and many other events around London.
Jean likes wearing diamonds, hence the sparkling part of the title and the figure of bars 13-16.
Always elegant, she could be described as a “swish lassie” with a fondness for birling, hence the echoes of Swiss Lassie here.
