According to the notes for the dance “Heathcote Hall is a house that was built in the 1860’s not long after the Illawarra railway line was constructed. When the dance was written, the front of the dance devisor’s home faced the Hall across the street. (The devisor has now moved). The part of Heathcote containing the Hall is within an enclave in the Royal National Park and its gazebo tower used to be used for a fire lookout.”
