The New Zealand “Scottish Country Dancer” published this dance noting that “Dr Thurston’s visit has occasioned several new compositions. At Wallaceville’s ceilidh on June 25 a new dance was done in his honour.”
The dance notes add that it was “composed by Marion Cunningham for the Eighth Ceilidh of Wallaceville Scottish Country Dance Club, in honour of the visit of Dr Hugh Thurston. The theme of the dance is the passing round the ballroom of the visitor, who is welcomed by every couple in turn.”
The date is not known, but in
issue 3503
Joy Tracey writes that “it was on the Taradale Juniors Dance programme in July 1986”.
