The instructions in MMM1 2nd edition, revised 1966 specify:
17-20 1st couple cross giving right hand and cast off to second place. 2nd couple step up on bars 19-20.
21-24 1st couple giving left hand cross back to own sides and cast off around 3rd couple to meet partner, and lead up to face first corners.
TAC notes suggests phrasing of bars 17-24 should be: cross and cast (3), cross and cast (3), lead to corners (2).
