2M & 3M dance out & cast round end dancer, dance across set & cast 1 place on other side as ptnrs follow - crossing & casting to R - but dance down/up 1 pl on opp side to ptnr, when 2M & 3L also 3M & 2L approach each other they pass RSh & Lady turns in behind passing Man (not her ptnr)

At one time, in the Macfarlane country around Arrochar, the new moon is said to have been known as Macfarlane’s Lantern.
According to one internet source (of unknown reliability) this was because Clan Macfarlane was known for nocturnal cattle raids!
