Bauldy Bain
Bauldy Bain appears in the poem,
The Barn Dance
, by William Dixon Cocker (1882–1970), a Scottish journalist, theatre critic, writer, and poet. This includes lines such as
Hey! for the music o’ Baldy Bain’s Fiddle!
Redd up the barn, a’ we’e gie ye a Reel.
In till it, noo! Wit a diddle-dum-diddle,
Dod! that’s the tune to pit springs in your heel.
It appears that Bauldy must have been a competent exponent of his craft.
