Inscribed “to the mountains of New Zealand”.
Drewry further reports that:
On Sunday 14th May, 1995, I climbed Mount Ruapehu (a volcano and the highest peak in the North Island of New Zealand) with Helen Lyons, Marcel Horvath, Olive Cammidge and Terry Pye. Helen and Marcel were the leaders because they knew the mountain well. It was a day of pure magic with blue skies and sunshine.
When we returned, we learned that New Zealand had won the final race in the America’s Cup in their boat “Black Magic”.
The title of this dance reflects this doubly eventful day and also the fascination which mountains have always had for me.
In the following week, I experienced more mountain magic with Dorothy Wilson on the west side of Mount Cook at the Franz Josef Glacier, and then, two days later, with John and Marie Martin on the east side at the Hermitage, again in perfect weather.
