At the request of a long time dancer, I taught Mrs Hepburn Belches dance last night in San Francisco. Much to my surprise, I admit, the dance was a great deal of fun, although not at all easy. The initial crossings don’t specify hands and it seems that using right both times is a fairly straightforward way to enter the first reel, but the only dancer to remember doing the dance pointed out that crossing by the left can involve a lovely little loop for 1st man and second lady to use to eat up the necessary time before entering the first reel of 4. Does anybody on the server have insights to offer about how this dance is/was done? Does anyone know for sure the reference in the title? Bruce Herbold Bherbold@aol.com San Francisco Branch
