“This dance has two titles; one to celebrate Ted Carson’s ‘semi’ retirement, and the other for the tangle the dance looked like when we first tried to dance it! Ted danced this creation for several weeks without knowing that the dance was written for him. Mike Turner, who devised the dance, told Ted it was written by an anonymous person who didn’t want to be identified or have the name of the dance known unless the dance worked (it was the only way to practice it without tipping him oft). Changes to the dance were made as a result of the practices. We revealed the name and dedication to Ted at a party, held in his honour on February 9, 1991.”
