1s dance a full “Relay” reel of 4 thru 1st corner pstns as 1st corners dance 1/2 reel & dance on clockwise to next corner & set while 2nd corners set, dance on to next corner & dance remaining 1/2 reel with 1s (2nd corners let 1s corners out before entering reel) 1s end facing 2nd corners

“Hairy Mary is a salmon fly: gold, black, and bright blue with a light brown wing. It was created in the early 1960’s by John Reidpath of Inverness.”

came to me while I was watching the Olympic relay skating. The hardest part about teaching this dance is getting the first corners out of the reel half way through. In the Olympics, the skaters push the new racer into the race as they leave, scarcely social dancing, so I have the second corners entering behind the dancer leaving the reel, and discourage pushes.”
