Devised in July 1986 to commemorate several visits made to the Bluegrass by Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen, an avid horsewomen, has made regular tours of Kentucky to assess American stallions for her mares. On her second visit in 1986, she made a rare public appearance and worshipped with parishioners as St. John Episcopal Church in Versailles. Two Central Kentucky Branch members had the honour of being a part of that memorable service.
