The author tells us: I originally named the dance »Leapin’ Lizards« after an outcry habitually uttered by an ancient cowboy hero in the »Eagle« comic paper which I used to get as a kid. I later changed the name to »Lowpin Lizards« on a recommendation by Jennifer Wilson; »lowpin« (without an apostrophe) means »jumping« in Scotch.
Note: If danced in a 3 couples longways set, on bars 25 – 28, couples 3 and 1 set and dance half right hands across, while 2nd couple set and cross over right hands. Finish with the normal bars 29-32 [circle halfway to the left].
