Originally dedicated (1969) to Ron and Susan Nedderman, Cambridge, England.
Susan was a superb, much-loved teacher to generations of Scottish dancers, who died in April 2000.
Her husband Ron continued to teach advanced Hugh Foss and John Drewry dances for many years but died in May 2021.
Adrian writes: This is a demonstration dance, Medley 64S + 64
R (
- extra, optionally, for dancing off), for 5 couples initially in a longwise set, but evolving to an open circle for the start of the reel and ending in a pentagram formation. Large space needed. Highly geometrical, the reel section has five-fold rotational symmetry, and there are pentagons in some of the strathspey figures as well. 36 diagrams provided. Danced just once through. Dance intensity: Strathspey virtually 100%, Reel 100%.
No crib is made by ETF for demonstration dances.
