The notes for the dance give the following background:
This dance was written for a group of dancers from Aberdeen who were to visit the Island of Rhum.
Askival is the highest mountain in the Cuillin of Rhum.
Kinloch Castle is the “big house” on Rhum.
When I visited Rhum many years ago the number of the phone in the phone box outside the post office was “RHUM 1”.
