For Alex Coats of Kenora, who sang a calypso devised in March 1997 at the ceilidh in Winnipeg.
Many of the dancers at the weekend school received amusing mention in the calypso.

This dance should not be taken too seriously.
I nearly gave the dance the alternative title “Coates Crescent” but feared that such a name for a light-hearted dance might upset too many people in high places.
