In 1987 the Wirral Branch participated in the International Folklore Festival, Marburg-Biedenkopf in West Germany together with teams from
Poland, Portugal, Czechoslovakia, The United States of America, Yugoslavia and, of course, from Germany.
RSCDS Wirral Branch were guests of Volkstanz- und Trachtengruppe Gladenbach who hosted our party of some 40 dancers and helpers for 2 weeks.
Much of the German music inspired Muriel Rimmer to compose “
Wirral in Gladenbach
” - and so of course a dance had to be devised to go with it.
Poland, Portugal, Czechoslovakia, The United States of America, Yugoslavia and, of course, from Germany.
